Steyr M40 - Guarantee or Extra Mags?

Ok, I know this gets dangerously close to asking you folks to make my decision for me, but bear with me - I'm trying to weigh apples and oranges here.
I'm pretty sold on getting the Steyr M40. I've located two local dealers that offer reasonable deals with different features:
1) NIB, 1 mag and Davidson's lifetime guarantee - $350.
How valuable is this guarantee? Anyone ever have Davidson's make good on it for you?
2) LNIB, 3 mags, no guarantee - $325
The claim is that this gun had barely a box of ammo through it. I inspected it inside and out, and it looks very clean, almost unfired. Very minor edge wearing of the matte finish on the slide release. Low S/N - 0011xx - any issues with early production? Mags are about $30 each, so the extra 2 mags are a nice kicker.
Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Guarantee is not needed, very tough gun.
Make sure it had the trigger upgrade, you can check by calling GSI firearms.

cdnninvestments has steyr m40 for $288.99 not sure what shipping would be then another fee would be FFL transfer. the davidsons guarantee is good if you have a problem they will replace the pistol if they cant get it fixed. magazines are on sale at moment at cdnninvestments.com for $19.99 best price in while specially considering cdnninvestments is about the only place that has them.
early serial number issues include problem with extractor and something that had to do with trigger. on trigger if the pin is in lower half of the trigger you may need to send the gun to usasteyr aka diamond trail shooter supply if the pin is in the middle of the trigger its fine. my first steyr m40 cost me $350 and was a davidons online deal got two magazines for total of 3, for total of $350. second gun cost me $380 nib 1 magazine total 1.
steyr m9 from cdnninvestments is going for $277.99.
has he had any issues with the low serial number steyr is he trying to ditch a problem child? can you shoot it before you buy it?
usasteyr.com (http://www.steyr.com) give usa steyr a ring for info on updates for the low serial number gun. their was a update after than number.
I havent had to use davidsons service myself but its pretty simple.
most common steyr problem is extractor. other problem is feeding of 357sig apparently. I havent experienced either.

Congrats on deciding on the Steyr M40! Awesome pistol. I have dealt with Davidson's for warranty repair with my Ruger P97, they are great! No questions asked they just repaired. It took 2 weeks because Ruger was a little slow, the Davidson's sales rep. was very fast at replying to emails and kept me updated as well.
I have some where around 5,000 rds. through my M40 and the recoil spring is finally getting pretty tired, I'll have to send it in to the repair shop listed on the Steyr website one of these days. Other than it has been as good of a gun as I could ask for, I have sweat all over it and it hasn't shown any sign of rust yet although the mags which are about $35 at the local shop have started to rust.
With all that said buy the one with the Davidson's guarantee and order the extra mags online, just remember to keep that little card with there guarantee number on it. When you're ready for a holster check out www.gunnersalley.com they sell FIST holsters, again you won't be disappointed. Enjoy your new gun!:D

I'd go with the Davidson's guarantee. Run a search here or at the Firing Line (http://thefiringline.com/forums/index.php). There have been problems with some Steyrs.
The guns come with two magazines from the factory. See if the Davidson's dealer will throw in the extra mag.

Thanks much for the replies! I got just enough differing opinions to cancel each other out, leaving the final decision to me. :) Exactly as it should be!
Cheers.
