Does anyone use or have any Boker knives? I was wondering what their strong/weak points are? The stag handle ones look nice but I was wondering if they are good performance wise? Thanks.

I'd get a Böker in a heart beat, haven't had any of their pocket knives but they make some of the best straight razors out there!

They make a whole range of knives and design/quality varies.

Reputation-wise, Boker is a old and respected company.

Do you mean fixed or folder? "Traditional" or "tactical"? The question needs to be narrowed down a bit.

Yes I do own Bokers and yes they are good quality knives, but there are low end and high end Bokers.

I still carry my grandpas Boker small stockman he bought back in the 1930's.

My only personal experience with Boker has been with the Chad Los Banos designed Subclaw. It has been a good one, though I have said repeatedly that I wish I would have bought the Subcom instead. Nothing to do with the quality of the Subclaw, which is fine. I just have never warmed up to that hawkbill blade is all. Chad, by the way, is known as "Daywalker" on a couple of other forums and while I can't say that I have a running conversation with him, I have talked with him a couple of times and he comes across as a very nice guy. In any event, the CLB knives seem to represent a pretty good value/quality ratio.

Aside from that, I have handled a couple of Bokers and found them to be quite satisfactory. They are kind of a funky company: One the one hand they make and have made for a very long time traditional slip-joint knifes and on the other, they have some of the most aggressive, modern designs around. Some of those designs slip into Mall Ninja territory for me, but most of them don't. Overall, I can't think of a reason why I wouldn't recommend them, although desired use and all those little variables do play a role in things, and they do make some lower end stuff that I am not such a fan of.

I have that exact same Boker skinner. I love it and it has been a great knife. For that price for that knife you can't go wrong. Comes with a very nice leather basket weave sheath too.

I have two Boker knives; one of the Argentina made ones and a small Boker plus (China) drop point skinner.
Both a very well made and sharp right out of the box. :D

Best deal in town for the price and quality, even the Chinese made Boker plus........sweet little knife!:cool:
