I am on vacation in central Florida and just happened to go to walmart and see this stuff in .38 and .45 in stock. I bought both boxes of the .45 because it is the same as ranger bonded. Was going to go back today and buy the .38 but am wondering if it would even try to expand out of a snub. I usually shoot dead soft 158 grain semi wad cutters that I hollow point in my fixture. Shooting those into wet phone books produce lead nickels. They come out in the 140 grain area but I believe they would get the job done. Not too sure about the pdx1 though. Anybody have some data on theese please share.

Do I have to say colt or S&W to get a response here? NO, but you might have to wait for someone who has actually found some for sale, and tried it since it was announced at the Shot Show in January. The ammo shortage has made it mostly unobtainable around here.

I've got some in 135 gr. .38+P. Shoots accurately out of my S&W (there I said it) 638 and is supposed to expand and then penetrate to FBI standards. I shot some water jugs with it and some Double Tap 125gr. GDHPs. Both opened up to .65 caliber or so. The PDX1 rounds have cuts down each "petal" of the jacket to help allow them to expand at lower velocities much like the Federal HSTs or Winchester Ranger ammo they are patterned after.
