WICHITA FALLS, Texas -- An apparently intoxicated man teed off some golfers in Wichita Falls.

Eric Goin, 23, surrendered Wendesday at the clubhouse of the Wichita Falls Country Club after he was pelted by a ball.

Officer Brian Masterson said Goin earlier walked into a furniture store through the back door -- and workers called police.

Goin then ran to the nearby golf course.

Police on motorcycles took part in the 15-minute chase.

Seventeen-year-olds Will Osborne and Luke Dillard also helped. They were on the driving range when they saw Goin sprint across the grass.

The youths teed off and Goin was pegged in the knee.

The suspect is facing a public intoxication charge.

Officials say the golf course wasn't damaged.

I may recant all the nasty things I've said about golf courses as a waste of a fine rifle range. Pelting criminals with golf balls is OK in my book. :D

I gotta ask...first does one yell "Range is hot" before a tee shot like that ?
White vs Yellow golf ball for perps?
Plastic vs Wood Tee?
( people just think firearm enthusiasts get into heated debates)

I was at a golf course with my best friend playing a lousy round of golf, but generally having a fine day, when a golfer hit his ball across three fairways to nearly hit my heard, but for my having dropped prone. No yell of "fore!", or anything. I walked over, and being sportsmanlike, knocked the ball to the golfer (local rules declared it out of bounds if it left across another fairway). The golfer, who had been spending his round drinking beer, came cursing and yelling and vexing angrily, stomping over, declaring that I had messed up his game by moving his ball. (An impressive assumption, seing as his ball had missed the direction of his fairway by more than 45 degrees.) As he got to within 50 yards of my friend and I, and I saw him rip off his hat and sunglass in an apparent show of preparing for pugilistic activities, I turned to my best friend and said, "I believe a 3 iron would be in order, here." We began laughing so hard, it confused our drunken aggressor, who eventually turned and stomped off. :)
