I am new here and I thought I read enough to believe that most here a respectable of the true RKBA. But as I look though more and more posts I realize that most here are willing to put up with b/s laws that says you cannot. Is this true? Or is the right absolute in this forum?

Wecome to THR.
Don't know what you've read so far.
Might do a search for a specific question, hang around a bit, before you judge us...we members do that pretty well with new members.
FWIW, many members have written Best Sellers, have their own RKBA sites, submit editorials, have made huge legal strides exposing the political process in regard to CCW in Kali...
Just never know whom is present, whom may show up here...:)

The United States is a nation built on laws that respect freedom, end of story.

I don't think anyone who says they can't put up with a particular law abides by it anyway, since that's rather contradictory. You'll find a lot of "this law is terrible but I don't want to go to jail" and "this law is terrible but I believe in the rule of law." Neither group believes that the law in question is morally right, only that justice includes, respectively, caring for others (dependents, mostly) and obeying the law. Both groups have good points. Caring for others is usually a good thing, and so is obeying the law.

Then, there are those (including one of THR's esteemed British members) who think that firearms bans and regulations are more or less okay. They are in the minority, but there are some good points to their arguments as well. Put the average THR member in place of Congress and virtually all gun laws would be gone. Put the same person as president and they wouldn't be enforced. Put the same person in place of the SCOTUS and they'd be ruled unconstitutional. Any trivialities about whether this or that person abides by silly laws are just that, unimportant. It's their life. They make their own choices.

I'm totally opposed to small-arms bans or regulation of any sort, but I don't think I've ever made any comments about whether I do or don't obey any particular dumb laws on the books. I don't see the point. Anything I said could either be used against me or might convince someone else to obey an unjust law. Either would be rather terrible.

What about small arms bans for habitual killers, mentally ill Schizophrenics and children below the age of 8 ?

We all make compromises in our lives. In the case of unjust gun laws - and nearly all of them are, in my opinion - this means we are "encouraged" by the Man to follow the law with the threat of official sanctions. Plus, many members have families, friends, loved ones that they do not want to put through the hassle of legal troubles.

As far as breaking the law goes, if enough people broke these gun laws regularly the government couldn't do anything about it.

1. Incarcerate

2. Medically indicated restriction due to disability--Schizoprenia is Permanent.

3. Between them and parents. My kids can posess, under supervision I approve.
