Can't remember if I saw it on THR or another gun site, but about a week ago, there was a thread about some yahoos shooting ducks out of season, with a rifle.

Good news...

Just checked the website of the Toronto Globe and Mail (major Canadian national newspaper) and three young "men" have been arrested in a small town in Saskatchewan. They will be in court Monday to face "a variety of charges under provincial and federal wildlife laws".

Unfortunately, prosecuting THEM won't cure the poaching problem, but maybe at least this bunch will get the message.

For those who missed it first time around, these idjits not only committed the crimes, but posted a home made movie about it on You Tube.

Wish every crook and poacher would seek their 15 minutes of fame that way on You Tube.

Makes them so much easier to catch when they provide video evidence of their own crimes!

Yes, but the "subsistence" hunters can shoot all they want from a boat with a motor on it going 45 miles and hour if they want. They don't tell you about that crap. Makes me sick.

All over Canada and Alaska last time I looked. I believe the "indegenious peoples" can do about anything but shoot the damn liberal politicians if they want to. I know they also harvest waterfowl eggs.
I have no problem with preserving their way of life. Give them a damn bow and arrow and a paddle then.

Ya know, I've never honestly thought about this. Where do ya draw the line? I supposed if they're hurting the resource, that's where the line should be drawn. But, you have a very good point, if they wanna preserve their way of life, they shouldn't be allowed gas and outboard oil and ammunition. Seems only right. The palio-indians only had atlatls and bows and killed off the megafauna. Well, there is debate about that, but they'd probably have died off a lot faster if they'd had cobra attack helicopters and miniguns.
