I have been using one on my aK-47, seem to handle alot better during rapid firing and quicker follow up shots. So I decided to add one to my Bushy A2 shorty.

I installed one and then, a few weeks later, removed it. It just seems to get in the way and isn't as natural. The reason is that it's in the user's nature to hold the fore-end and point it in the direction of the target. It also seems to get in the way of shooting from rests. Just my opinion, but I've talked to many who actually use them and most don't like them. Special ops seems to like them, so there might be something to it. On an AK-47 type, it seems more natural to me... I'm speaking only of the forward raked one that doesn't get in the way of the magazine
