I have a couple of 700 ADL rifles which I'd like to convert over to the BDL's feature of being able to dump the shells out the bottom. What do I need to do to facilitate this (besides a BDL stock)? One of them is a Long Action .30-06 and the other one is a short action .22-250. I'm confident in my ability to do the conversion... just need a little direction to begin. Input appreciated.

They sell a conversion kit on Cabelas, I believe its call the kwikclip or something like that. had considered it for my ADL also, you can use your ADL stock, just have to be somewhat handy with woodworking. Good Luck.

if youre going factory or equiv, youll need a BDL stock, trigger/floorplate housing and maybe different stock screws

Thank you for that... that gets me started on my .30-06. Anyone have some input for me on the short actioned .22-250?

Thank you. Lookin' like the OEM parts is my only option for the short action one. M'be I'll give that one a shot first and see how that compares to the aftermarket pieces of the long action.

You can pick up the bottom metal for 50-100 dollars depending on the market. You can use your existing spring and follower but will need to get a new box @12 dollars. You can use two of your existing screws. You can buy a new/used remington synthetic BDL stock, with the R3 recoil pad or if you are lucky with the new SuperCell recoil pad for 30-60 dollars on Ebay. Depending on your luck, you might make the conversion for @100-150 dollars. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up on it. It's a dangerous thing to start haunting eBay... a feller can find all sorts of "gottahaveits" on there. :D
