What is everyone paying for 8lbs of TAC? The cheapest I've found is $130 at Grafs.

I'm paying about $15 less than that, but that's immatierial. I contacted Ramshot by e-mail and struck up a conversation with a fellow there that filled me with data on every cartridge I asked about. Many cartidges I was interested in weren't even listed in their printed data. Point is, (as this guy told me), they have a lot of data that they simply have not had time to publish. I've become a real Ramshot beleiver. I bought 24 #'s of TAC and am using it with great results in many applications. I've also jumped on some other Ramshot powders and I'm finding that they work as well or better than all the higher priced stuff. My feeling is (I'm kind of new at this--I only have 45+ years of experience reloading) that this economical Ramshot stuff is a smart shooter's way to go! They don't have a lot of printed info out there, but if you contact them, you'll quickly find that they have the data and they'll gladly provide you with it.

TAC at the The Gunstop is about 134.00 plus tax for 8# jug. But you have to pay sales tax, too! PV is a good place to TAC.

I would absolutely love to try out Tac! I just have no way to do it as no dealer in this area carries any Ramshot powders. I'm def not going to buy an 8# jug to find out that I don't like it along with the hazmat fee. Wish we were able to trade powders with eachother through mail without having to have special liscenses and such. I've also always wanted to try X-Terminator but the same holds true.

Last year--actually, over the last two years I e-mailed Ramshot, and was even put in touch with their ballistician. This was when I was working up the 38/357 GDSB "replica reloads" data.

I received excellent support, including numerous comments and recipe recommendations for (True Blue and Silhouette) loads that they did not yet have published.

I imagine their rifle powder support is equally good. IMO, Ramshot powders are well worth trying out.

I bought some Tac from PV but haven't gotten to use it yet. I doubt I will be a convert. I might have been if it was still quite a bit cheaper than H335. But it is within 5 bucks of H335. There are more loads for H335 than you can shake a stick at, Tac is a little more limited.

H335 does not do well with heavier bullets in the 223 at all! TAC does. H335 in the 308 does not work well, but TAC has some potential......internet lore suggests that BHA uses a Non Canister Grade of TAC for their Match ammo in 223 and 308......
