125gr 9mm LRN cast from wheel weights and tumbled in Lee Liquid Alox, not microgrooved, on top of 3.1-3.2gr of Clays and Winchester WSP primers, in Win brass. 1.2" OAL.

Have four pounds of Red Dot I just got at the gun show, because that's a low-density powder that will cover all my pistols. The LLA seemed a little messy in a few spots, and seemed to scrape away from the part being seated. I may consider a very light tumble and then a quick brush or drop in the lube groove in the future.

Decided my Lee Pro 1000 is a bit of a pain for where I am right now. Fifty rounds was an ordeal, between the timing, occasional slip of the slider that prevented feeding, and the auto-prime needing cleaning and jiggling and forcing every five rounds.

I hope that all gets better after some trial-and-error and setup time.

For now, I spent another $130 at Midway for the whole single-stage setup, complete with hand primer, 9mm factory crimp die, and four-die .38 Spl set.

If I like that more, I'll sell off the progressive and stick with single-stage.

Any tips around this load, or one with Red Dot? I'd love to pretty closely recreate one of the mass-produced loads and just fill up a can for later use, and would consider grabbing some Win231 or somesuch for that.

Having just learned this... I'd shy away from the Win231. The muzzle flash created is incredible (round flame ball) compared to Accurate #2 (almost non-existent flash). With the Win231 I see flash coming out the side of my HK USP 40 and not with the AA2. Given that the prices are similar per pound I'm planning never to buy Win231 again... until I'm looking to create some movie special effects.

I'll try and grab some next time I make it to the show.

In retrospect, I should have grabbed four 1-pound jugs of different powders, but Red Dot is second or third for velocity in my manual, fills the case, and is cheap. :)

Edit: And muzzle flash may not be desireable, but that's cool. I'm going to have to figure out a nasty flamethrower load, just for fun's sake. :D
