G E T O N E ! ! ! !

I just got mine last night.... Oh my god... This is 3x the gun I expected. For only $219 @ AIM its by far the best deal out there....

The fit finish are excellant, the action is nice and tight. With a weight of almost 2lbs empty its recoil is minimal making follow-up shots easier. I had a chance to put some rounds through it last night....

Its comfortable, looks good, feels great in your hand, and is just all around a superior firearm.

thats just my .02

I might do that, but I would have to ask my Browning High Power if it was all right first!! :D

I like mine a lot too, but as it is a range gun, I need to get rid of the dang magazine disconnect! I can feel it when I pull the trigger... ugh.

The more I hear about this the more I want one...

Any pic's?

Does AIM have more in stock?

Congratulations!

I'd jump on one if the grip didn't fit me just wrong. I can't point a Hi-Power consistantly to save my life (which automaticly exludes it as a carry gun for me ;) ). CZs with their longer trigger reach and scalloped sides fit me to a "T" so my next gun purchase is looking like a Witness 10mm (since CZ doesn't make the 10mm I currently long for, you listening guys?) :D

Cortland.

What do you want to know?

It's made in Bulgaria. That one was imported by DIG in VA BCH, VA. Not sure if they are still in business. Currently there are four models that I know of being sold here, the M-94 as shown and in a compact size, and the M-98 which is DAO in both sizes. Century Arms is currently selling them. They are not C&R eligible.

Most parts other than the frame and slide will interchange with the P-35, FM M-95 or the FEG PJK 9HP.

Mine has been accurate and reliable.

The one I have that was imported by Century does not have the fired casing.

Too bad I can't just shoot one, and send it to you in a little brown envelope. :barf:

At the Arcus site, they seem to indicate that the '98 is a DA/SA model.

http://www.arcus-bg.com/

Does anyone have both the 94 & 98 to compare virtues?

No biggie :)

Have a good one.

I'm checking with a local dealer on picking up the 98DAC.

I'm hoping to do some additional research on mag' compatibility. My best understanding is that all the BHP high-caps should work in all the Arcus models. We shall see...

Best wishes,

The Souther African (marked KRD) mags don't work with the Arcus, it's actually specifically mentioned on a page of Hi-Power magazines. Everything else was listed as working fine. Found out personally after ordering it from CDNN, when I called, they told me it's the only problem they have had was that combination.

Hello,

Can you point me to an on-line source that has them?

I know Mr. Camp posted a terrific link on BHP mag's, but I'm having difficulty locating the thread...

Thanks in advance,

So where do you go for parts, warranty work, etc?

Local store has a couple, asking $325 each.

I'm still confused...:(

Though I've long considered them a fine pistol, I've refrained from purchasing one only because I've never been able to determine one simple little issue. What mags flush-fit on a compact?????? I may be dense, but I've yet to comprehend this....:(

CZ52GUY
October 29, 2003, 10:33 AM
...that the compact versions are just as tall, but are shorter on the barrel.

http://www.arcus-bg.com/products/firearms/1_singe_action/1_arcus_94/1main.htm
http://www.arcus-bg.com/products/firearms/1_singe_action/2_arcus_94c/2main.htm
http://www.arcus-bg.com/products/firearms/2_double_action/1_arcus_98da/1main.htm
http://www.arcus-bg.com/products/firearms/2_double_action/2_arcus_98dac/2main.htm

If the "Full Size" and compact have roughly the same height, then I would think the flush fit issue would not be a problem on the Compact models.

General mag' compatibility issues experienced by Arcus owners is what is holding me back, a topic I've requested assistance with in a separate thread...

Good luck,

CZ52 -

you could also get a FM Argentine hi-power.

They have them at Southern Ohio Guns for $299.

I picked up one at a gun show a couple of weeks ago for less than that.

Good trigger, very accurate. Completely FN/Browning compatible and takes all Hi-Power/ P35 mags.

Just a thought - the Arcus's bulgarian pedigree doesn't exactly instill confidence in me. (although I should say I'm very happy for those of you who have one and like it)

CZ52GUY
October 29, 2003, 10:43 AM
The Argentine is certainly a possibility down the road, but I do have an "Eastern European" bias...when it comes to firearms.

I actually like the looks of the Bulgarian and the overall endorsements I've heard from Arcus owners.

Some day though, the Argentine you recommend would make a terrific cousin...

Thanks,

They really are a great deal, but i sure prefer mine with the wraparound rubber grips unlike the grips in the earlier pics.No mag issues with me so far and i have several brands being used.Unfortunately the 30 rounders dont fit flush.:D

CZ52GUY

I've identified a local FFL who can get me a 98DAC with the rubber wraparounds for $290 OTD.

Not the greatest price, but he can have it in 2 days...no shipping hassles, no transfer fee which would put me in a similar price range anyhow.

I expect to "pull the trigger" on a deal in the next few weeks once I appropriately align my budget to do so.

I can't believe you guys did this to me...I was all set to get a CZ-75B with a Kadet, but already having a CZ-75B, I'm going to defer that purchase until sometime in 2004 because I've really gotten the Arcus itch...:D

Now where's my CDNN catalog so I can order those KRD's....;)

I actually liked the rubber finger groove grips that came on the gun. I ended up taking a razor blade and seperating the two grip panels by eliminating the finger grips. Makes for a slimmer grip. These two panels have a comfortable Hogueish pebble feel, while not pretty, most gripable.

Hey,

I'm thinking about buying the Arcus Compact (Single Action) and I have a few questions.
1. What is the single action trigger like ? The trigger itself is physically different from a "traditional " single action, i.e. 1911. Does the trigger pivot at the top when depressed or does it move straight back, like a 1911 ?
2. What is the width of the pistol in relation to a 1911 ?
3. Is the grip panel the same size and shape as the Browning ? Crimson Trace makes a laser sight for the Browning that would be sweet on something like this.
4. Has anyone figured out how to disable the magazine disconnect ?
I'm partial to single action triggers, and like the width of the 1911's, but don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the privilege.

Thanks,

santai

Where did you hear that the revolver is coming?

I wouldn't mind getting one of the combos they talk about on the website.... different calibers! hell, they even have it in 9x18! A 4" .357 sounds good too. Any idea on the cost?

I've never really been a huge fan of wheel guns (although I enjoy shooting my buddy's cowboy versions in SA).

However, the idea of a low cost but very reliable 4" .357, or a 2.5" snubbie which shoots 9x18 is intriguing...

If you contact Century, ask them if they are going to import the .22LR conversion for the Arcus98 also. :) Too bad I don't have the 98, but it would be nice to know.

And I posted a pic of the wheelie in the Revolver forum since posting it hear would be Blasphemy! :D It doesn't look as good as the autoloader, but heck, a 9x18 Makarov caliber option has to be useful for something, right?

CZ52GUY: Enjoy that Arcus, I need to go shoot mine some more, it feels ignored... heck, most of my collection feels ignored probably... how sad, sniff.
