Notice the mans qualifications at the bottom of the article. He definately thinks of himself as being much more important than the rest of the citizens of our state:barf:

Here's a particular irony...

What we must realize is that licensing and registration will never be able to control human nature

But, apparently, gun control laws will.

Typical "civilians can't be trusted" cop. Yawn.

Since all citizens can't be trusted why should he and his deputies carry off duty?

Oh wait, they are "special" cases and sworn upholders of the law, as they see it. If you have a self defense need you can count on them I guess?

No wonder so many people have trouble trusting cops with characters like this in charge.

What a pinhead elitist piece of crapola he spewed. Did he mention how much time he and his deputies spend on the range each month?

What we must realize is that licensing and registration will never be able to control human nature, and that’s the true threat to public safety presented by the bill to allow ordinary people to carry concealed weapons.

"Ordinary people?" What a pompous ???. I cannot believe this guy. Ordinary people. I bet this guy thinks he's one of the extraordinary individuals who should be able to carry concealed. Jeez. :cuss:

What he really needs to do is check the stats for states with CCW and discover that the predicted anarchy never occured. That CCW holders based on the stringent requirements and checks are certified good guys. That the rate of crime commited by CCW holders is so low as to be practicalloy non-existent.

But of course facts mean nothing to that pompous a-s-s ex-sheriff or his ilk.
