Attention all hunters:

Please realize that it is an

EXTREMELY BAD IDEA

to even think about STARTING A GODDAMM SIGNAL FIRE, IN A DESERT, WHERE IT HAS NOT RAINED FOR OVER 174 CONSECTUTIVE DAYS, BECAUSE YOU LOST YOUR HUNTING BUDDY IN THE HIGH, THICH, EXTREMELY DRY BRUSH.

I CANNOT STRESS THIS STRONGLY ENOUGH.

Mind you, this is no longer applicable to most of San Diego county as most of the readily available fuel and homes have burned away, but I am sure that there are other places where this advice is also appropriate.

Thank you for your attention.

Yep, good point. However, I'm still waiting for all the libertarians to start yelling about how they have a God-given right to start a fire anywhere on their property anytime they darned well please and to heck with the needs of society and hey, we don't even need a govt. to regulate or prosecute these kind of numbskull acts because we can handle it w/o the benefit of the bog bad state.

Yikes, sorry about the rant.

Right. Luckily, we had the government to make it illegal, so this fire never happened.

There is only one thing worse than an idiot starting a signal fire in a high risk fire area...Hearing of a gray van with multiple suspects on highway 18 (Waterman Rd) throwing lit matches out of the vehicle and starting a fire that destroys over 200 homes in less than 12 hrs. :fire: :cuss:

I’m starting to question the statutes prohibiting cruel and unusual punisment.:(

Strawman argument.

A libertarian would tell you that while people have the right to start fires on their private property, if that action (or any other) leads to the destruction of other people's property or lives, the fire starters bear full financial and criminal damages.

Would a Republican or Democrat be as harsh?

Making it illegal allows LE to hopefully find those that were responsible and have them prosecuted.

Making it illegal allows LE to hopefully find those that were responsible and have them prosecuted. The prosecution of those responsible will not hinge on a no-burning ordinance.
