they probly made them when smith was makin there pump 12 gauges still so maybe 70s 80s.

3-1/4 dram, about 1290 fps
1= 1 ounce load
6= #6 shot

All in all, a nice upland game loading for pheasant or similar

I found some in my safe: 3 1/4-1-8s. Stamped S&W: Made in USA. I'd say they are from the mid-1980s, IIRC.

I have a box of them at home. Good upland / small game load.

Pattern a couple and see how they do out of your shotgun.

we had a local S&W plant so we had quite a few floating around locally.

I remember them being cheap compared to Remington and we used them but only because of the price. I think it was early 70's- mid 80's.

S&W ammo was made by the Alcan Cartridge Company of Alton, lll.
ALCAN was in business between 1951 - 1971.
Purchased by Fiocchi, and then later by Bangor Punta, who also owned S&W at the time.
