Anyone seen some of the new offerings this year, like the PSE's with the 26.75" axle-to-axle length? They've still got nothing on my 20.5" Liberty, but they're headin that way - I like this trend.

Within 10 years crossbow will be the next be rave.

More and more states want more deer killed. In order for them to do that they are leaning towards the crossbow. :what:

HAve you ever shot the liberty. Not my cup of tea by any means. I am still shooting a 9-10 year old jennings buckmaster. Hell i just bought my first release this last weekend. Old habits just die hard I guess. I have been shooting for 25 years now and I think I may be the last old foggie with a finger tab sometimes.

I am going to break down and buy a new bow this year. I have it narrowed down to the Mathews Reizen 7.0 or the Diamond Marquis. Anyone have another suggestion?

No, I don't shoot with a release. I just got my first compound, an old Hoyt, after 35 years with a recurve. I'm completely uncool. :(

Well, shouldn't be REAL hard to modify a 21" long bow into a crossbow, eh?

Seriously, though, all these new short bows and single cams are cool. I'm just afraid to shoot one. I don't need to get too crazy and start spending MORE money on archery stuff. Besides, I kinda need to keep improving with what I've got at the moment. I ain't good enough with my ebay Hoyt to justify a bunch of money to the wife that I probably won't be that good with, either. LOL

And handguns are shorter than rifles, but typically can't be shot offhand nearly as accurately.
I often wonder if we're getting to that point?

Both are great shooters, myself I went with the Admiral by Bowtech due to how user friendly it is. don't need a press to change out the string and cables, adjustable in 1/2" increments for draw, very smooth, quiet, and not bad on speed either. Also the ATA is 31 1/16". Not to long and not too short. I am getting just over 270fps with a 470gr FMJ, and already found that shooting the same spot is hazardous for arrows.

Also you might look for a used Switchback as well, there are a bunch out there that are in great shape and they shoot awesome. I almost went with one but decided that the Admiral was more of what I really wanted.

Good luck and try a few side by side before settling on just one.

I shot the admiral in right hand. Not a fair test being I am left handed. Found the bow to be preety smooth and easy to shoot. I really like the 2008 model marquis. The 2009 model they changed the cam and the roller not for the better IMHO. The Reizen was very very nice to shoot. My buddy owns the archery shop in Topeka and is also a south paw. Trying to convice him he doesn't like it anymore and I'll take it off his hands:D. Finding a bow is problematic for a left handed shooter. So many shops have all you could ever ask for in right hand. I am nervous about ordering a bow for me and being stuck with it if I don't like it.
