Anyone have any experiance with these? They are dirt cheap at my local Dick's sporting goods and im wondering if they are any good. They seem to be an H&R knockoff.

They make a 410 that is only 4 pounds that I think would make an awesome hiking gun.

Good experiences with these. We have that .410. No complaints. I can bust clays all day with it.

It go 20 gauge, but I have a friend with a Rossi combo .22/.410 and it's a neat gun. See nothing wrong with it.

I have shot the rossi 20 ga, nice gun. I prefer the H&Rs.

I've had my .22/.410 combo for 6 years or so and it's still working perfectly. IMO the H&R's a a little prettier, but that doesn't matter much to me.

They are very light which makes them great to carry but I don't think I'd want to shoot the 12 gauge model with heavy loads.

Both my children started out with the 22/410 combo. Under $100 each around the first of December. A couple years and still working fine. The only complaint I have is that the sights on the 22 are cheap. They move WAY to easy. Other than that, it still goes bang.

The H&Rs are PRETTIER? Oh, lord.....ROFL!

Not usually the first word I think of for an H&R. Tough, sure. Utilitarian, sure. Pretty? Well, it's in the eye of the beholder, I guess. :D

The H&R's are available with walnut stocks while the Rossi models have vey plain wood. That's where the "prettier" comes in. Otherwise, they are both just simple basic guns.

Well the H&Rs I've seen including mine have a LOT of overlap in fitting stocks to action/barrel. Not exactly hand fitted. LOL Just sorta struck me as funny.

My H&R is about the highest priced on out there, 10 gauge turkey. It's got a camo stock, thought it'd be plastic, but it's not, it's hardwood! Guess that's okay, adds weight. The thing is 9 lbs and could stand to be 11 lbs. ROFL! I love it, though, on geese. It really chunks a tight pattern with a mod choke and a full 3.5" load of T shot, reaches out there and touches 'em. :D Bangs your shoulder up a bit, but it's worth it. :D

One thing I neglected to ask before, how bad is recoil on a 4 pound 410? Id likely be using mostly the 3 or 5 pellet 000 buck loads and the 1/4 oz. slugs through it so im wondering if it will kick the crap out of me...being such a light gun and all.

Don't know how cheap the Rossi 410 is at Dicks but WalMart carries the 410 and 22 matched pair for $117, bought one a week or so back. Dicks here wanted $149 on sale for the same thing.
Yeah the little 410 kicks surprisingly hard, they have an optional butt pad for it, put mine on this morning but haven't shot it yet. I wanted the butt pad to increase the length since I'm kinda big, not its intended youth audience.

I went to check out the .22/410 youth matched pair at Dick's today. Cool little gun. Feels like it weighs like 3 pounds. The stock is very short and thin though, I cant imagine it being very comfortable to shoot 410 shells with. Seemed a little less refined than my H&R, but it locks up just as tight and seems great for the price. I like how they break down with no tools and fit into a little soft case.

The Dick's catalog has the full size rossi 410 for 99 bucks, ill probably order that one instead.

Do all rossi's include the soft case or only the matched pair?

.410 recoil is nothing. I have a 10" .410 barrel for my Contender pistol, about like shooting a .38 special in a K frame. That gun with that barrel weighs about 2.5-3 lbs. From the same barrel, with the choke removed, hot .45 Colt handloads leave an impression on your hand and wrist.

I bought the stepson a rossi .410 for his first hunting gun. he was 9 then, it was a great starter gun for him. I still tinker with it now and then, it cracks me up how small it actually is though.
