No, I got the Ruger Bisley .45 I've been wanting one for quite awhile.......got a box of the cowboy loads to shoot in it, but I want to try some of those 45+p from CORBON...........either way, I pretty happy that I finally got it.

Ahhhhh...LOVE the Bisleys. Just a warning... I put one off for years. Finally broker down and bought one a few years ago. 12 or 13 Bisleys later... :) They grow on ya!
Heck...even named my dog Bisley.

My first handgun was a Colt Bisley built in 1912, got it in 1957, I was 12. The Rugers are fine machinery and I have several Black Hawks, but the bisley just doesn't feel right after so many years with the Colt, sold my ruger bisley.

To really take full advantage of a Bisley in .45 Colt you need handloads. That's not to say there isn't some pretty good factory stuff out there but by handloading you can find the one load your Bisley will excel with. Good luck. I love my Bisley.- .41 Mag.

Bisley's are neat guns - I had mine custom built from Colt parts by Dave Chicoine of Old West Gunsmith. Jerry Meacham made the Elephant Ivory grips for it. It is chambered 44 Special and lives up to its reputation as far as accuracy. This is one of my all time favorite revolvers. I bought a "Crosshair" high rise holster from El Paso Saddlery for it. Carries really well for a large gun.

I agree, SA revolvers and especially the Bisley are habit forming.
Here is a picture of my most current Ruger Bisley Vaquero in .45 Colt. (made in 2005)

Edited with new photo and new description: My two Bisley Blackhawk convertibles (.45 Colt/.45 ACP) with consecutive serial numbers. The bottom one has the complete Power Custom kit in it (new trigger, hammer, hammer spring and base pin latch spring, trigger set at just over 3lb) and I'm waiting on the kit for the other. I plan to make some better grips out of elk antler. I need to get a couple of those Bisley Vaqueros that you have ArchAngelCD.

cane, did you polish those gripframes to get the paint off, or are they stainless?

Thanks and you'll get no argument from me on that one. I was in lust the moment I saw them. Having consecutive serial numbers is a plus too. The Power Custom kit really takes them to a whole new level.
Kind of wondering if the OP is going to post a photo.
Heck...even named my dog Bisley.
HA! That's a grand name for a dog .... big or small.
:)
