Broken Front Bead Removal

I picked up a 'used unfired' Browning 425 last week and it's a thing of beauty. The only problem with it is when I tried to replace the front bead, it came off in my hand. It looks like the threaded shank broke off right at the base of the bead. I think that the previous owner must have broken it then re-attatched it with superglue, because it came off just from me twisting it with my fingers. Anyone have any ideas on how I can remove the portion still stuck in the threaded hole?

It will probably have to be drilled out and re-tapped.
But sometimes, you can tappy-tap-tap on the outside edge of the broken shank with a small hammer and a very sharp scribe.
Unless it is really bottomed-out tight, or lock-tighted, it might unscrew far enough to get hold of it with pliers.
The risk is, if it doesn't come out, you have buggered the flat end which will make centering a small drill bit more difficult.

If a small portion sticks up out of the hole I have had good luck grabbing it with a pin vise. You get good control and grip. :)

This is true.
But I don't think I have ever seen a bead break off with anything left sticking up in 45 years of fixing them.
They always break off flush with the rib or barrel in my experiance.

rc, this one broke off flush just like you described. I'd rather not try the hammer+scribe approach for the reasons you stated. Guess I'm off to the shop to see if they'll cut my a deal on fixing it. I just hate to do that because it will take my new toy out of action for 2+ weeks.
