Your rifle was made by Marlin. It is a copy of the Marlin Model 80 that was sold by Sears. Not a lot of value but I'd guess $50 to be a fair price.

Stainless would help elevate the price somewhat. The main question is how does it shoot? If it shoots well and you like it, that would justify what you paid for it.

It shoots great and I like it. An so does everyone that looks at it. They want to buy it.

Now THAT is how you determine the value of anything.

It has stainless, trigger, and finger hole, and bolt doe's that help. They might be chrome plated, but they sure ain't stainless.

Nobody except S&W was making stainless guns or parts for guns when that gun was made.
Least of all Marlins made for Sears.

Nra Never did any thing, but call people name's,All I can say is, if it weren't for the NRA, we wouldn't be on this board arguing about it today.

I've been a member since 1962, and without NRA, guns would have been history by now after several concentrated efforts to ban them through the last 50 years.

I side strongly with RC, I'm in the same age group and have held a membership almost as long.
Thanks RC, well said!!!!

There are a few trolls who post on this and other sites from time to time. The themes are always the same - the NRA is evil, socialism is good, gun control is necessary, no one needs guns, etc. Ignore them.

Lee,

I assume you're pretty new to the internet forum experience. The part of rcmodel's post, below the line, is what's known as a "signature". It's a little statement or quote that shows up under every post he makes.

It has nothing to do with you or anyone else in this thread, and wasn't meant as a reply to any post here.

FYI.

Welcome to the high road... hope you enjoy your JC Higgins.

Now was that the kind of thinking our forefathers had??

Hell no

I might add that the NRA, and the collective voting power of the membership, HAS in fact, beat the government on many occasions in the past 50 years.

And they continue to do so today.

Now we only need to combine the power of the NRA with superfluous apostrophes and we'd be set!
