Ruger New Vaquero Case Color Finish

I found NIB New Vaquero with the fake case color frame that I'm thinking about buying. I have read several accounts of the fake case coloring wearing off of this gun, and I notice that Ruger no longer offers this finish.
Just how undurable is this finish? Does it wear/fade easily and quickly, or does it take a lot of use and abuse to kill it?

I have a few of the original Vaqueros with the fake finish and haven't had any problems with wear or rust, and these are guns that see some reasonably heavy use (e.g., thousands of "draws" from leather holsters) in CAS.

I have an original Vaquero and a New Vaquero in that finish and no problems at all with the finish. The original Vaquero is 5 years old but the New Vaquero is only 2 years old. Still, no signs of the fake finish wearing off.

I've got a New vaquero manufactured in 2005 and it looks brand new still. Wipe the whole thing down with hoppe's everytime I clean it to no ill effects.
Very fun guns to shoot, BTW.
