Hello.

Looking into my first big shot gun
(I own a H&R .410 break action)
I would perfer a lever action, As i enjoy these in rifles.
I know they have exisited, but mostly in the early 1900's it seems.

Does a modern lever action shotgun exist?

How bout a modern-enough old style one that isnt collector priced?

I found one, a Browning designed copy in my price range (approx 500), but its really fugly...

I searched using lever+action in this forum and nothing was found. "lever action" turned up unhelpful results.

All lever-action shotguns are really fugly!
Chinese copy of the Winchester 1887/1901.

That's all there is, other then some Winchester & Marlin .410's produced recently that were based on the 94 & 336 30-30 rifle action.

It was an idea that quickly fell from favor in the late 1800's after Browning invented the vastly superior pump-action shotgun.

I think they are pretty cool as well though the capacity is low. If I come across one at a reasonable price I will be quick to add it to my collection of goodies, but they are typically priced something crazy.

I would like to have one as well, but they only shoot 2.5" shells. Didn't know that until I seriously looked at a few a couple years ago. I haven't heard of one that shoots the more common 3" .410 shells.

the reliable from the box lever action shotguns are made by marlin and winchester. the ones from china have issues that vary between production batches. Thats why most cas shooters who get a non break open shotgun use the early winchester pump.
