I had one of the cheaper model Food Saver vac sealers for years. worked great until it just plain wore out. I then bought a 3x more expensive model (same brand) that didn't work any better and didn't last half as long. I called the multi-brandname-conglomerate-mega-corporate-service?-center-representative and was told the part that has failed this time is non-repairable.:cuss: only 2 seasons.
I butcher 5-7 deer per year, freeze fish, game birds, our own free-range chickens (you can tell by the rope burns and little tiny brands from spring roundup) and a bunch of fruit and veggies from our garden and greenhouse. We fill 2 big freezers every year. I can justify the cost of a good vac sealer- up to maybe $600?
Does anybody know of a GOOD QUALITY pro or semi-pro unit in my range? I'm not going to spend another nickel on a disposable food sucker. Garden season is really starting to crank and I'm without a vac sealer. We're already canning every weekend. This would be an emergency if I hadn't located a loaner.
