Haven't been able to access thier site for a month or more. Did they go down permanently or is Earthlink blocking my access?

Were the people there scattered to the winds, or did they regroup elsewhere? If they regrouped...where? I was registered there, but never posted. There was so much info to be had by searching the archives that I never even had to ask a question.

I really miss shooter's. The format there was hard to beat, unfortunately more than a few trolls had destroyed the place in the last year or so. It looks to me like the parent company has folded. There was some really nice people that posted there so it is a shame.

I posted at Shooters several years ago, it was the first on-line board I took part in. Sadly it devolved and became a victim of several cults of personality that made it a less than fun place to hang out.

I know a few of the old members post here.....9x19 and JeffOTMG. Don't know what happened to the others

Hi, I used to lurk at shooters and post once in a while. They weren't moderated so the trolls, incivility and personal attacks made it almost unbearable at times. Some of the posters seemed like great guys but a few were jerks. Unfotunatly it only takes a few to ruin something.
It was always lively though and there was a wide range of opinions offered on any subject you could name.
Some of them went to shootersville.net

Searches for the board come up with results, I can search for the name I used on the board. But, pages are coming up not found.....guess they're gone.

Shooters.com was the first board I discovered also. I had a great time on there. There was a lot of good technical advice on that board. A lot of good experimentation and very little of the "What is your faviorite 9mm" type of stuff. But as was mentioned, "unfortunately more than a few trolls had destroyed the place in the last year or so."
I ended up leaving when a couple guys, that seemed like nice guys, would turn every thread into a circus by trying to be funny. A really interesting subject would come up, a few good posts would be made, then one of these two guys would post something turning the rest of the thread into a joke. Everyone else seemed to jump right on the bandwagon so I figured it wasn't for me, even after spending a couple years on there.
Some of the guys that were on their cast bullet forum are now on a good cast bullet forum; if you are interested I will get you the link, but they were recently hacked and the site is down.

I miss shooters too, it was the first gun board I visited and I was hooked. I never posted there but many of the names there seemed like family even though no one ever knew I was hanging out there. I greatly enjoyed the CCW threads and even cracker barrell from time to time. Lots of great info there and even though there were real trolls many of the people couldn't be beat.:(

I meant to research several topics in their archives but never got to it. Guess their archives are gone.

Really liked their links section...it kept my browser favorites down to a reasonable size.
