Just found and read this at my local library. Any input about Mr. Missildine and his work, history, biography? Anybody ever train with him?

I found the book to be the best I've read so far.

Interesting that he used a pump (winchester 12) a shot low gun, advocating same, with a 26" bbl. Nowadays people think you need a 32" O/U or you aint ....

Are there more current skeet books you guys like?

I bought and read "Successful Shotgunning: How to Build Skill in the Field and Take More Birds in Competition" by Peter Blakeley. Very well done, and it improved my scores.

Blakeley is probably not as well known as some others, because he isn't a competitive shooter.

Good book. I recommend it. He has chapters on skeet, sporting clays and various hunting situations, shotgunning in general.

This is his second book. He has written another book titled "You're Behind It". I haven't read that one.

Note that a 26" Model 12 probably handles like a lot of 30" O/Us.

...not that I think you need a 30" gun to shoot skeet.:)
