Which Holster

Hey fellas, and ladies, I'm new to the site and just browsing around. I have a question for you all. I am an avid sportbike rider and have my concealed permit. I just recently purchased a tuckable iwb holster and love it. It's sooo easy around town and in the car but I am wondering if you guys, and gals, think this would be a good enough holster for the bike. If not, what kind of concealable holster do you all think would be a good choice.

What is the weapon you plan to conceal?

Generally speaking you don't want anything on your hip or back. During a fall off the bike, you'll roll/skid right over that hunk of steel and quite possibly break something more than you normally would.
I have my Kahr in a holster, inside my jacket pocket. Still not ideal for a crash but more accessable than in a tank bag if you have to go inside the gas station for something.
Many people still carry on their hip anyway, but if you decide to take that risk, at the very least have good retention like a thumb snap instead of an open top.

I would go with some kind of fanny pack.

Avid biker, here's a few things I do:
1) Small revolver on ankle inside boot
2) Small revolver in front pocket
3) A leather jacket I have is modified to carry up to a full-size 1911 in pockets stitched into the lining. A leather maker did it for $50 each holster (I put one on each side).
Lastly, no holsters w/o retention straps. Too much movement to trust an open top to retain it in my book.

I would be holstering a Glock 30, and I know, it's a thick gun to be concealing. I dont always ride with a jacket but the sewn in holster sounds great. I thought of a shoulder holster but a local cop in my town told me of a horror story that he had encountered. I dont really want to ride with the gun under the rear seat and then get to where I'm going and then put the gun in the holster. A guy at the gun store told me that an open top IWB holster would be sufficient on a motorcycle, due to the holster being tight and leather and being between my body and the belt.

What's the horror story about the shoulder holster?

Well first, the officer said that shoulder holsters' thumb break usually have less pressure required to break the snap loose. But his story was as follows. He was riding his bike to the courthouse. He was unaware that the thumb break had come loose. As he was rushing into the courthouse, his gun came out of the holster and beat him to the crowd waiting at the elevator. He then proceeded to grab the gun and made his way up the stairs to the courtroom, totally embarrassed. Not really a horror story, but just the thought of it going off in the crowd or a someone grabbing it and start a shooting in the courthouse. He said he went home and put the holster in a shoe box and it hasn't seen the light of day since.

The holster in the pic is called a Chesty Puller who was a famous Marine hero. It is made by Rob Leahy of Simply Rugged. It is both strong and light and, while made for woods carry, has found a lot of favor with the military in Iraq.
Its construction is both simple and elegant and results in a very, very safe and secure carry situation. I should think that it would work quite well for bike carry. FWIW!

This would probably work perfectly. I have one in white and it fits a officers size 1911. The spandex material makes it fit quite securely.
You just wear a light button down shirt on top of it.

But his story was as follows. Sounded like an isolated issue with a particular holster. Thinking objectively, it supplies no more information on shoulder holsters in general beyond a reminder to check the retention ability while shopping.
Dude, we're talking about a Glock, everyone and their mom make holsters for Glocks, you should be able to find one that works for you easily.
