Hoping for a range report ASAP!!!
I am very interested in these little guys. Just about ready to buy a PM9, but really would rather have a 12 oz aluminum frame 9mm.

9x19, it won't be two years until 2/4/04, that was the day I placed my order for one. If it does deliver next week it will be 21 months and, yes, the time is shorter than what Seecamps were for many years. I hope that they stick around, they shouldn't have the same problems that plagued D&D, but I managed to get a Bren Ten anyway.
Bren and NJ3, I am not real sure of the price yet, I am hoping that it is what I ordered it for last year, but I understand that the cost has gone up and since I didn't prepay they were not obligated to hold the price. If they did that then all the others who ordered hundreds or thousands of pistols would want the same price.
Wildalaska, I don't know what the deal is. You might try calling them on the phone. I would imagine that they are a bit busy right now getting ready to ship. Another thing may be that with all the orders taken at the SHOT Show this year I am sure production is accounted for over the next several months. They should still respond, but I would try calling, that is how I get ahold of them.

Jeff,
How long will you have it before sending it to Lou Alessi for a new set of clothes? :D
Good luck, let us know how it performs... I sincerely hope its a gem.
Be sure to visit the Kel-Tec booth next year at SHOT... I hear they may have a new introduction themselves... :D

9x19,
Are you hinting that Kel-Tec will introduce next year a new 9mm the size of their P32/P3AT pistols???
Isn't competition great!?!? :D

They called and left me a message yesterday that they were finally a go and that if I wanted one, they needed 50% down and the rest when the gun was ready.
I had emailed them a couple of times with questions but never actually said I would order one. In fact, I told them I would be interested when they made a titanium or all steel version, which they said they would eventually do.
I hope the guns live up to expectations they do well so that they can eventually build the version I want.

Are they still releasing both sighted (R-9S) and non-sighted versions?
Also, does the slide lock back on the last round? Or did they have to forgo that like the KelTec P3AT?

9x19, funny you should mention that. Lou is waiting anxiously for arrival of the Rohrbaugh. He is putting it on top priority so I can get the holsters back in time for pictures to go with the article on the gun. He is going to have it for 4-5 days, but that won't be until after I shoot the pee out of it. I may be in Dallas the weekend after Thanksgiving for the Market Hall show if you want to go to the range and try it out you are welcome to. That is, of course, if I actually have the pistol.
USGuns, there will be both an R-9 and R-9S. As far as I know there is no slide stop. As on the Seecamp, a slide stop would have added to the width of the pistol and that was not acceptable. It was made as small as possible. The pistol originally was 4.999" long, but is now 5.002" because the wire used in the recoil spring needed the extra space to full collapse. The wire was a hair thicker than originally thought. That is how tightly they watched the dimensions on the gun during development. A slide stop was seen as a luxury.

Naw I dont think so.....ya see that excuse doesnt wash with me...suffice it to say that I am busy too, yet manage to answer each and every email I get (and let me tell you we get a ton)...and still get work done....I mean, no offense to them, but in the month of October to date, we took orders, for, packed up and shipped out over 100 guns, not even counting walk in sales and service, and still the emails got answered....
Too bad, if they have a good product, we could have helped them out in a big CCW market where we are the major player....

You have had a negative attitude about this gun since the start or it seems that way to me. I don't mean to be confrontational, but I just call it as I see it.

Eric confirmed that 16 had shipped last week... he also reported, sadly, that this edition of the R9 will not be available for sale in CA because it does not have:
1) slide lockback on last shot
2) manual safety
Eric told me: "take back your state" - we're working on it. He said that they are working on a new "California Version" of the gun but this is not pushed off into the future.

I don't have mine yet, they originally had told me this week, but I made arrangements for the pistol to get 'special use' and two of the four needed for that got delivered on Nov 7. I don't know where the other 14 went, unless Eric is counting the mockups sent to Hedley and Alessi for holster molds. WHERE IS MINE????? Guess I will have to call tomorrow and find out. (Sure hope Ayoob doesn't have his yet.)

They sent Ron Graham a mock-up weeks ago to use for holsters. They have to be close to shipping.

I spoke to Eric this AM. He has 16 frames completed, not guns. The only two guns completed thus far went to Calif. The frames are back from the anodizer. The only thing missing are the small parts. The hammer, trigger, hammer strut, etc were going out today to the heat treater. Eric said gun shipping in 7-10 days. Also they broke SN sequence to build the advance guns for the movie, I still get 101.
Hollywood learns about the stuff because I tell people I know who tell the gun people at WB. (The gun guy at WB is officially a Texas resident.) The full story will be in the article so it is a bit of a secret now, but yes, I arranged for the Rohrbaugh to be a movie star.
