How does the Limbsaver pad compare to a Knoxx Spec-op's? I have the Knoxx on my 870, and while it does change the "punch" to a "push", I get whacked in the cheek everytime I fire it! I have looked at the pic for the proper alignment and am doing it correctly. The Limbsaver claims to do wonders and is much cheaper, plus it keeps the traditional look.

I'ma woose. I have the Knoxx and the Limbsaver to really reduce the recoil. (my shoulder needs to be replaced, I refuse to stop my sport)

Disclaimer - I am not an expert at shotguns. I just started shooting them regularly within the last year or so.

Having said that - it is my impression that the recoil pad will not help deal with cheek slap. Cheek slap is a function of how the stock fits you (and whether you actually jam your face onto the stock hard, or just kinda float it there and let the stock get a running start at smackin' ya).

You need to have the shotgun fitted to you and you to it.

The hubby of a co-worker has several pins in his shoulder...he uses the knox/limbsaver combo on his turkey gun.
