All,
I was given a Beretta 302 by an elderly uncle the other day. It is a wonderfule gun, but on close examination under good lighting I noticed that the guns had a hairline crack in the alloy receiver, on the side opposite the ejection port. It is about 2 inches long from forend back. I took the gun apart and can not see any movement in the alum at all.

Questions

Can this be repaired?
Should this be repaired?
Does it need to be repaired?

I have searched around and have never heard of the Beretta alum receivers cracking, not even a whisper about it.

Thanks in advance.

Personally, I would call Beretta. IF you can get through to a live human being, they should be able to answer your question. If unavailable, try Rich Cole in Maine - they've been Beretta experts for a long time
