Good evening. I have a S&W 5906. I really like this gun it is my everyday carry gun. I got it for a really good price. I cannot get any kind of accuracy out of it with the factory sights. I can get about 3 or 4 times the accuracy out of my son's Glock 19. I have talked to my local gunsmith and he tells me that there are no after market sights for this gun. I really need help. I can't afford to go out and buy a Glock or something else right now. Do any of you have a suggestion.
Thanks,
Ron

Check with Wayne Novak - www.novaksights.com. The website mentions sights for 2nd and 3rd generation S&W autos. There are sights by XS and Williams Fire Sights for the S&W 910 which may also work. What ever you do you will probably have to have some machining done for the rear sight. I have Novak sights on several of my guns and they are great - Novak offers wide noch sights which work well for old guys like me. Are you having a problem seeing the sights? You mentioned not being able to shoot the S&W as well as your son's Glock is this possibly a trigger issue?

it could be a trigger issue but I think it is more I cannot see the sights. I have tried changing the color, putting glow in the dark paint none of it works.

You shoot accurately with the Glock, you don't with the Smith. 3rd Generation Smith's have decent sights. Have you let someone else try the same two guns? Tried different loads? Inspected the barrel crown for damage? Checked barrel fit/wear? It just might not be the sights.
