New argument against anti's...

I have thought of a new argument against the anti's who want only the militia to have guns.

1. Ask them if they think the militia is composed of the National Guard. They will most likely say yes.
2. Ask them if the militia should be the only one who can have guns (along with police).
3. Ask them if the militia should be allowed to have "Assault Weapons" and full-auto.

Rebuttal after questions are answered:

1. Quote the legal definition of "militia"
2. Tell them they have just said that the restrictive gun laws are illegal because 17-45yr old males are the militia, and are not allowed to buy these weapons.
3. They have also proven themself to be not only sexist (because only men are allowed to own guns acc. to their argument you just walked through), but also biased against older people because they arent allowed a basic right as well.
4a. (optional) Giggle with glee that you just beat someone with their own argument, and walk away.
4b. (optional) Try to convert them while they are confused by logic. IF they start espousing tripe and foaming at the mouth, then see 4a.

Well, what do you think? Is it a viable plan (with some work), or just a fun thought? Any improvements are welcome.

Antis don't care about the militia. They only thing they care about is their perception that guns cause crime.

As we know, the antis are completely wrong about guns. However, I do agree with their prioritization. The issue of the militia takes a back seat to the problem of crime, which is far more immediate.

Ask the anti this: would you rather face an attacker that wields a gun, or some other hand weapon such as a knife or club?

According to the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) people attacked with non-firearm weapons are nearly twice as likely to be injured in the attack. So the answer, if you want to avoid injury, is a "a gun."

Then ask this: would you rather fight back with a gun, or simply do as the attacker says?

Again, according to the NCVS people that fight back with a gun are 25% less likely to be injured than people who comply with their attacker.

Finally, you can bring home the real point of carrying a weapon for personal defense. It's not about vigilantism or reducing crime statistics. It's all about protecting yourself from harm. That's all. And that's something that most people can understand.

I don't argue.
I will answer questions with facts.
I only have so much time, so I choose to use wisely.
I will educate a new shooter, I will teach a new shooter, this is a good use of my time, If I were to use my time to argue, this new shooter may not get the proper instruction they want and seek.

Getting older I learned, one cannot change people, places, and things. Only and only until that person chooses to change ( usually because they have hit a bottom) will changes be made.

Yes I fight the fight. I have always said no gun laws-period, I just have my way of going about it.

Perceptions; many anti's live in a idealistic world. Some actually want to remove all freedoms, targeting the BoR, the 2A is just one of many being mis-interpreted, mis-quoted, and mis-construed.

So I instead , being the realist I am, use more concrete examples, idealistic persons get lost in abstract sometimes.

Recall, I'm the one whom handed an instructor a fire extinguisher with a trigger lock, set a trash can on fire. I didn't convert the instructor, I sure did get some classmates to think for themselves; yes some now have CCW.

Recall, I also refused to walk the same instructor out of a theatre performance , she approached me and my friends as she was leary of the late hour, the dark, and where she had parked. This also caused others to think, in real terms, not in ideal terms.

I have a family member whom I paid for CCW , training, ammo ...everything,..he decided not to send in. Actually because of my stance, involvement with 2A and the like, I do not have a family, I have my mother, that's it. Yes the family made choices on other matters years ago, they made the choice, the CCW dealie with this one member clenched it. I think it is great he very involved with his church. My thinking is a "Higher Power" wants one to be personally responsible. If I'm on a train track , trains a comin'; well prayer is good, I still think I'm expected to take an action on my behalf- yep any Divine help, appreciated. I asked not to be called he wakes up dead, when he could have taken responsibilty and I paid for it long ago for just this reason.

In teaching some newbies for CCW, I've had students that had been assaulted, raped, car jacked, cars riddled with bullet holes, had someone dear killled...etc., the point is the idealist world of gun control shattered for them. It was time to take personal responsiblilty.

I've always said Richard Pryor made a great point in his comedy album. " I did not go down that alley, because their may have been 3 or dudes with a baseball bat". ( paraphrased and language edit). So these that are true anti's send them down that alley, a choice a cell phone, a rape whistle, a rape brush, or a firearm. Let us really see what an anti will choose when faced with reality, no idealistic perceptions.

I'm a cold hearted you know what? I can be a really nice compassionate fellow, when a line is crossed with me I can be a you know what, that sometimes is required for someone to find their bottom.

I looked up a few ANTI- Handgun Forums for the first time. Are these people for real? Why these people think that I should not have the right to own a Firearm is beyond me. The one thing that they keep ready to throw in someone's face are the KID's that get hurt, so now we take your BEER, Whisky, and the only way to clean your fish is with is with butter knife if your lucky. There is a 101 way's for kid's and adults to die, take my gun's my baseball bat my knife and you still got 98 more way's to take my wife's purse. Just give it up and you might not get your house robbed latter on. I've been able to keep my self out of jail for 33 years now. I've been a handgun owner for 5 years and not one time have I got a wild hair up my azz to go out and my money that people owe me. But the Anti gun people say, " well you could just go crazy and kill someone." The one and only thing that has kept me out of jail is. Why the hell would I want to live with peolpe that look and smell like that. I just want my love one's and myself to have the right to travel here in the USA with a Springfield .45 on them. HELL were all clean!!!
