TWO men accused of robbing a Kgale View family using a toy gun were yesterday denied bail by Broadhurst Principal Magistrate Twalib Ngitani.
The magistrate agreed with the prosecutor that Petrus Makgwasa and an illegal Zimbabwean immigrant, Albert Zibanda, be denied bail because they had another robbery case pending.
Ngitani told the suspects they would only be granted bail if they had been cleared of the first robbery case. In the second case, the two are said to have attacked a family in Kgale View and robbed them of a number of items and cash using a toy gun.
The two did pleaded not guilty to the charge and requested the court to release them on bail. Zibanda told the court that the police took his P800 saying that they were going to use it as exhibit.
However, Ngitani reminded him that the police will present the money to the court and if they failed, Zibanda has the right to demand it. All the stolen property was recovered from the suspects.
Meanwhile, two citizens of Democratic Republic of Congo, who are accused of illegal possession of diamonds, will know their fate on Friday when Magistrate Barnabas Nyamadzabo rules on their case.
