Am in the process of cleaning my brass and had some liquid brass polish in my cabinet. I've heard that any liquid cleaners used in tumblers should not have amonia in it.

Any truth to this?

Yes.

Ammonia (Brasso & others) can leech out zinc from cartridge brass and make it brittle.

Use real tumbler polish, or mag wheel polish.
