AK/SKS slings

I am looking for cheap slings that could be used on a wide variety of rifles. I see a lot of AK/SKS slings online. How good are those as generic slings? Are they long enough and strong enough for longer rifles?
Also found this cotton sling from Widener's:

Issued AK slings have a spring clip on the end that may not work with the sling swivels of most rifles. They're also noisy unless you go to some effort to cover the metal parts with something soft. On the other hand, they are VERY strong; you could probably attach one to a tree and swing from it.
I personally have an Uncle Mike's Realtree sling on my AK. :D

The Israeli universal slings are very good and fit everything. You use paracord loops tied to the sling swivels to attach the sling to the weapon.
These guys have a decent price and good service. http://www.zahal.org/rifle/p8.htm
The slings In these pics is that type. The Uzi has the quick adjuster w/plastic hardware.

I went with the East German grey sling from Cope's. As said, it jangles and rattles, but it fulfills its purpose. I am also a fan of neutral and black on a gun, so the grey was also a matter of preference, too.

DIY for under $10. Length and width of sling material may need to be adjusted for the AK platform.

Your link isn't working, but here is a generic SKS sling that many places have in the $5-10 range:

(Not that I'm recommending CTD, but it was the first picture that came up.)
