Reading a previous thread about Knoxx stocks - thread is now closed - they were talking about cheek slap.
When I first got my stock and was sighting in slugs I got Whapped bad. I haven't been hit like that since a high school fight!

At home I looked at the gun and realized that I still had the multiposition stock in its Short position. Going to the range again next week with more slugs I was careful to pull the stock fully open. NO problem. I shot a couple rounds of trap last week and the Knoxx stock made the 870 really pleasant to shoot. 2 of the fellow club members were very intreged with its shock absorber.

What I learned from this is that length of pull - stock adjustment makes a critical difference for cheek slap.

Not sure exactly what you're getting at here. Are you talking about the fact that the stock is hard plastic and unforgiving when it kicks up into your face, or are you saying you got hit by the receiver when it slid back upon firing. Either way, yes its true the Knoxx has a thing for kicking you in the face.

I had exactly the same experience. The first time I shot it (about 50 rounds) I looked like I had been sucker punched. It was the "bell" just behind the receiver. After I lengthened it, no more cheek slap.

I adjust mine down a few notches from full extension. That's how it fits me.

I think it's a good thing that it is adjustable. I don't recall any guidance in the instructions about whether to go from long to short or vice-versa...

I like the ability to change the stock length easily. Teeshirt at the range and later a heavy coat in a deer stand calls for different stock lengths. I just have to remember to set the stock at the longest that is right for my clothing.

After that bit of learning curve I'm a fan of Knoxx stocks.
