I know this will come off as a rookie question, but here goes.....

Am I correct in believing that when I slap an Wilson 2rd magazine extension and a Speedfeed pistol grip stock on my Remington 870 Super Mag synthetic, that it will be legal because it is a pump-action shotgun?

Thanks.

According to Federal law, yes it is legal. Your state and local laws may vary.

So, is there any limit to magazine capacity for a pump shotgun, or could you "in theory" have a 50 round extension?

If I'm not mistaken unless it's a semi-auto you have nothing to worry about.

As far as the Fed rules go at the present, distant kin, high cap is verboten only with autos. Local rulers may have other CS ordinances. And the Gummint can change things at any time, using the excuse of "National Security" instead of "For the children".

In theory, one one convert an 870 to belt feed, or a 50 round drum. I'd hate to have to tote that thing through the tules, tho.

Also, Fed rules limiting capacity for hunting migratory game birds would still apply.

Thanks to the Knoxx Sidewinder (http://www.knoxx.com/product/sidewinder.html), a drum-fed pump scattergun is more than just a theory. (I have never shot or had to carry one, but find the idea interesting.)
