308 Bullpup.

I am excited about the Kel-Tec RFB. They are in the preliminary stages of ramping up production (?). Does anyone else produce such a weapon. I have several 223 AR variants and would like to add a 308 bullpup to my stable before a new ASB shows up. Thanks.

Does anyone else produce such a weapon.Absolutely...but it is in a bolt action...not an autoloader like the RFB. The Desert Tactical Arms - Stealth Recon Scout (henceforth referred to as the SRS) is available in .243Win., .308Win., .300Win. Mag. (what I own), and .338 Lapua Mag. Others that I know of are a SVD bullpup (definitely available in 7.62x54R...and I believe also in .308), and the DSR-1 (available in .308Win., .300Win. Mag., and .338 Lapua Mag.). There is also a KVar kit that you can use to convert a 7.62 Saiga. :)

FWIW I will likely be getting a RFB pending a couple reviews and the price dropping by a few hundred. I am yet undecided as to which bbl length would be more appropriate, the noise/blast from the 18" will be harsh, and the 32" will be long, heavy, and basically defeat the purpose of the BP design. :)

The RFB is semi-auto maybe running around $1500 and the SRS is bolt action maybe running around $3600 roughly. So price is a big thing, A BIG thing, you could probably get 2 RFB's for the SRS. Of course it depends if you want semi-auto or bolt action. SRS is already a proven accurate rifle and of course the ability to change calibers and barrels in a flash. However still no real definitive input on RFB's performance.

My SRS cost about $4500.00 with the magazines (that have yet to arrive :banghead:), the scope rings, and .300WM kit...IIRC the .308Win. was about $200.00 less. So yes the SRS is quite a bit more costly, but the OP did not inquire about cost or availability. :)

The only other 308 bullpup I can think of offhand is the Israeli M89SR based on the M-14

Saw your post about the SRS Maverick223, I gotta give the sexy-gun-porn advantage to the SRS! You are a lucky man, good investment!

Oh, forgot this kit for the M-14 (http://www.shortrifles.com/)...I am currently deciding whether I will go this route or a Sage EBR...but I like bullpups. :)

Don't they make a bullpup kit for the 10/22? and I think there is one for the Saiga 12!

There are a couple kits for the 10/22, none that I know of for the S-12...but the AK kit can be modified for the 12Ga. The kvar kit (pictured above) feels sloppy and weak as is the Muzzlelite 10/22 kit IMO. I contemplated an aluminum 10/22 kit but it was a little too costly and a lot too ugly. :)

And another kit:

I have also seen saiga 308s made into bullpups.

I used to be excited about the RFB, there was a time when I was ready to hand the money over but I have lost a lot interest. Not being able to buy one limits the appeal. The fact that I haven't seen one owner willing to post a target of their groups also makes me wonder.

The target version would interest me if it could really produce the groups I have heard claimed. The target version is also years away from production based on some things I have heard. The 18" carbine still is not even being produced in any significant quantities

Was not aware of the Kushnapup, but the "Kobra-pup" is a one-off custom. The Kushnapup appears to be well made, I would like to see a review of it. :)

It is my understanding that Cobra's intention is to market a kit at the same price point as the other one. You are correct that it is not currently available though.

An RFB is on gun broker for 2G's. SRP at Reds in Idaho is 1295.00 NIS.
