OUCH!!! That was stupid...

So I went dove hunting yesterday with some friends. The first time out with my new to me Fausti Stephano SxS 12 gauge. A couple of my friends had doubles as well but mine was the only double trigger.
As we are getting ready to leave they ask me if it can shoot both barrels at the same time and I decided to give it a try.
Now in a short lapse of judgement on my part I decided that it might hurt my shoulder so I held the shotgun out in front of me at an upward angle and pulled both triggers. Not the best idea Ive ever had to say the least.:D
Now I have a nice cut on my right thumb, a good chunk of skin taken out of my trigger finger and my middle finger might be broken. :neener:
Sometimes Im an idiot. But that sure is a self correcting error.

Yeah, it will hurt your fingers doing that. I happened to do that once, just once.

That sounds painful
Where in AZ is good dove hunting? I want to try this year but I don't really have a clue on were they are.

I did it accidentally with my 12 once goose hunting and I was using 3" lead BB high brass. My finger slipped off the front trigger as I fired and slapped the rear. I wound up sitting in the mud with friends laughing at me. This is something to be avoided.

We hunted out southwest of Phoenix. I havent hunted in about 10 years so I dont know if its a good area compared to others, but there were plenty of dove and it was the second day. If you were a really good shot you would have had your limit, 10, in an hour.

Don't feel too bad. I tried to use the sights on a pistol grip shotgun and it gave me a sweet kiss on the nose. Lucky I didn't break it from that lapse in judgment.

Hard to believe anyone ever doubted Darwin when you think about it.

Only thing I saw worse painwise was when diminuitive friend kept getting knocked down shooting Dad's 12ga.Decided to back up to tree.We-being kids and evil-told him "Good Idea".He listed to the right for a week.Didn't hunt the rest of rabbit season.Which was a good thing. The pump was as tall as him and he was plumb dangerous to be around.

Don't feel too awful bad, I knew a deputy once wanted to know how it felt to shoot the two sawed off doubles they confiscated one evening. He took the guns downstairs and pulled all four triggers at once. :what: He actually had to go to the hospital for wrist injuries, broken that is.
