Good deal? My uncle has offered me this gun and it seems too good to pass up. I was going to buy a weatherby vanguard and scope but for 2-300 less after tax what do you guys think?

Sounds like a good deal. Is it a 7mm Magnum, 7mm Mauser, 7mm-08? What model exactly and what is the scope?

I don't know the specifics yet, my dad called me and told me. I'm waiting for a call back, I went to the Winchester website and apparently they don't make a 7mm anymore, it wasn't listed at least.

Unless it was abused, it is a steal, regardless of which 7mm. 7mm WSM maybe expensive to find, but the money you save will allow you to buy reloading equipement :D

If its a "classic" model grab it. If its a wal-mart model with a W on the fore end don't. I see classic around for 350-550ish occasionally.

Not a big fan of the whisum rounds (what I figure it is), but I would still jump all over that. :)

without knowing the specifics of cal, or scope brand, it still sounds like a steal.
