Things have been a bit slow this morning, but I hope I've made things a bit better.
If you see lingering weirdness, please let me know.
Thanks.

It's still responding much slower than usual as far as I can tell.

Very slow, like grandma used to drive her 1976 Ford Granada..........

Much better than yesterday. :)

Very very slow.
Also search is broken it returns blank queries from the database.

OK. Did some quick changes. Let's see if that fixed anything.

Derek, pages are loading exceptionally slow. You even get to see the text for the standard images on a page before the image itself is loaded. It's averaging about 10 to 15 seconds for normal pages that used to be practically instantaneous.
[Edit]
It took approx. 5 minutes for this post to be added to the thread.

Try it again Mal. The server had been up for 3 minutes when I posted my response here. ;)

OK folks, made some more changes that I hope will tweak performance back to normal. Might be 5 minutes before you notice them, though. There may be a pause when you post, but reading should be a bit faster, as should new connections.

Definitely faster than before you did what you just did. The Post Reply screen only took about 1 sec. to load this time as opposed to about 15 seconds before.
I figured you might have taken the server down just as I pushed the submit button the first time because your name was on the Online list after it finally went through.

Verrrrry slow here.

Just bumped the firewall too, though I doubt that's what we're seeing...

Whatever you just did was a big improvement. Even though I said the Post Reply screen loaded in 1 sec above, it still loaded in bursts - the top navbar section loaded, then the Reply to Thread then the Additional Options, all noticeably separate. This one loaded almost instantaneously like before the problems started, no apparent pauses.

Well, we had a DDOS yesterday, and I'd reconfigured the firewall to help deal with that. Rebooting it may have reset whatever it was that caused the problem.
Who knows?
If more slowness happens, please post about it here.
Thanks.

I'm still seeing sporadic 'server not responding' issues.

Still very slow.
Certain parts load fast, but most others take forever or never load.
Search seems to be working again, at least for me. Was normal speed in returning a response to the search.
Thanks for all your effort DZ! Having done some web programming/administration before, I know it can be rough. Many times you find yourself doing this: :banghead:
Keep up the good work there DZ! We'll keep testing it for you. ;)

Spotty here.
Pretty fast at times, but agonizingly s-l-l-l-l-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-w-w-w-w-w other times.
Just in the last few minutes, dialup, by comparison, was blazing fast.

Maddeningly slow at this time. This thread took a full minute or more to completely load.

Ok, this is weird. Took "forever" to load site, access this thread and make post above. As soon as I started looking at different sub forums and threads, it got back to normal/fast speed. Seems fine now.

Sorry DZ, seems I spoke too soon.
It is really slow again. Forum took forever to load. This thread loaded fairly quickly, but the quick reply box took about a minute to load.
