I just wanted to let everyone in East TN know that Bobby is closing his doors after years of providing guns, ammo, shooting supplies, and the best refinishing work in the Southeast to his customers. His health is not the best and he can't do refinishing work now. He is having a going out of business sale, for those out of the area interested in anything he can be reached at 865-933-3286. I am not sure what all he is selling as far as equipment, but all of his inventory is going for sure. Bobby Parker will be missed!

Boy, he sure will be missed. I guess that I have been doing business with Mr. Parker for 35 years. I had not heard the news. With money short I had not been to see him in some time. The last S&W I bought, I got from him. It was a model 36 that he had gotten from somewhere through a distributor. It looked unfired and was in pristine condition, not even a drag line on the cylinder. Seems like I paid about $250 out the door; the point being he was most reasonable to deal with. He was indead the best at refinishing or at least in the area. I may have to go see him before he closes, just to visit. For some years he had only been opening on the week ends as his health had been failing. It is a shame!! There goes another small business that knew the product. The dang big box stores have just about run all the little automotive, hardware, electronics (parts and on board components) not just boom boxes and crap. DON"T get me started on that. You can still walk into Standad Automotive there in 4 Way In and ask for a part and get what you need and want. Try that at PepBoys or Home Depot, etc. No one knows what anything is to repair anything. We have turned into a buy and throw away society. Mr. Parker was old school. He KNEW the business of guns. All us old donosaurs are dieing. Thanks for the heads up.:(

I grew up in 4 way in, Bobby was my scoutmaster as well as my dad's. I officially bought my first rifle from him when I turned 18 and also my first pistol (.45 ACP 1911) from him when I turned 21. I am going to try and buy a few things from him before he closes. Bobby is one of the last ones in Knoxville area to still hot blue guns, I know other smiths used him to do their bluing.
