I am a Commercial glazier and just got back to work after being laid off for almost 2 months. I worked the night shift tonight at a building in Seattle. One of the foreman for the general contractor told me that the reason "John Doe" was not there is because the police shot him NINE times. My boss (also my sorta almost brother in law) confirmed that he had been shot.

The story I got was basically that the police broke down his door from a domestic violence call an hour earlier about John and his brother wrestling while drunk. John was in bed and came out of his bedroom naked with a butter knife. That is when the police shot him.

:scrutiny:Yeah...okay....back to reality now. :scrutiny:

This is the story I just found from Komo 4 news--

http://federalway.komonews.com/content/man-shot-police-said-have-been-naked-angry-and-armed

Kent Police are now investigating the shooting of a 20-year old man by Federal Way officers last night.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the officers were responding to a domestic violence call just before 9:30 in the 27300 block of 24th Avenue.

At the scene, they contacted three people—the suspect, his brother and the brothers girlfriend.

During the contact, the suspect was naked and acting belligerently. He then apparently grabbed a knife in the kitchen, raised it over his head and charged the officers. They shot him.

The suspect was taken to Harborview and is now recovering with non-life threatening injuries.

The officers are on administrative leave while the investigation continues.

Acting Federal Way Police Chief Andy Hwang requested the investigation be conducted by an outside agency, which is standard operating procedure in such incidents.

I am trying to figure out what actually happened with this guy so it would be great if any of you have seen anything else about it. Crazy something like this happened with someone I had worked with. Gotta stay on your toes people, crazy things happen all the time and we don't even hear about it.

or?

I would think the truth lies more toward the second sentence here being he got shot.

I agree... PD's, like everyone else in the public eye KNOW they are being scrutinized and it is highly unlikley that they would shoot a man with a butter knife.

Also, two other thoughts come to mind....

If you are of the mindset that getting shot, will kill you.... read the above...

And...

9 Shots and no life threathening injuries? COM? It just goes to show how much the stress of a real life situation add's to your ability to hit what you shoot at. Or, maybe he was just one lucky SOB.

It would be interesting to know how many rounds were fired, how many hit the guy, where they hit him, and the severity of the injuries. Really, how crappy a shot do you have to be to shoot somebody nine times and none of them are life threatening?

Read in the gravest extremes. You can survive a LOT... look up the FBI shooting in FL....

I am just surprised the cops shot hit nine times and not ONE bullet hit a critical organ. Aren't they supposed to shoot to kill when being threatened with a weapon? I don't want to say bad aim, but I am at a loss for what else to say.

Their aim was thrown off by trying to hold in the laughter caused by a man attempting to attack them with a butter knife and his schwanz.

I've been keeping my butter knives in the bedroom, too, but I guess perhaps I should move them to the TV room.

Oh yes, and they NEVER misstate facts on their reports or to the press....

Hmmmm. So much could be said here. So many articles could be linked to. Do I dare?

The report of 9 wounds, came from the almost sorta brother in law co-worker. I didn't read anything about that in the link.

Sounds to me like an FTN.

I bet they shot AT him 9 times. If these guys shoot like the majority of shooters I bet most of the shots went low-left (or low-right for lefties). He probably got a shot or two in the lower abdoman, groin or leg.

Other than giggling with each other over the titillation factor - what is there to discuss about this?
