I've just ordered a Bell and Carlson Medalist Varminter rifle stock for my .300 WBY MAG. It comes with a full length aluminum bedding block. Does anyone know if I the barrel needs to be free floating and glass bedded. ? If its needed to be free floating do you just sand inside the stock?:

Not sure how this relates to Reloading, but:

Bell & Carlson says this about that.

"This stock is available with an aluminum integral bedding block that is precision- machined for total metal to metal fit. This virtually eliminates any additional bedding and assures a perfect fit that will never change.

All Bell and Carlson stocks, unless indicated otherwise, are drop-in
stocks that are designed to permit the customer to simply bolt the
barreled action into the stock."

Seems you put it together and shoot it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

dan, go talk to the gunsmith at oly's, he is the long distance/rife man in the area. He will not steer you wrong.
