Do the fissures created by fungal infection in the wood (as I understand 'spalting') weaken it significantly? Do you have to treat it in some way to reinforce it? It certainly is a dramatic and unusual effect.

The wood is stabilized, some of the best I have used. :)

For those that don't know, "stabilized" means impregnated with a polymer. Think epoxy or cyanoacrylic impregnated wood.

No I really never have, used super glue on some stuff?
But that is no were near what real stabilizing is.... :)
I pick this stuff up at Blade Show, I think they sale it for pool cues?
