I have a Remington 11-87 that I purchased used with a rifled barrel. I'm looking to buy a barrel that I can use for shot.

I'd like to start bird hunting, which probably means I'll should shoot some skeet. One of my friends is trying to get me into 3 gun. This isn't really a home defense gun.

The two most obvious choices (to me) seems either:
21" with rifle type sights (cheapest option)
26" light contour

I'm looking for thoughts on why one versus the other. Both will accept a wide variety of chokes. Rifle sights seem like they would be kind of nice, but I realize that people have been shooting shot for years without out them (and you can't line up a flying shot like that).

Get the 26" barrel. Sighted barrels are not for little fast things...

I got a 26'' on my 11-87 I love it. Mine just has a bead at the end and thats how I like it.

Length between a 26", 28" and 30" is purely a personal choice, but I would definitely opt for a Light Contour barrel. It does feel better to me.
