I think my wife is finally beginning to see the light regarding personal protection and concealed carry.
What gun does your wife/girlfriend carry and how does she carry it?

Right now my wife has a Taurus Total Titanium mod. 85 .38 Special snub in her concealment purse. For Christmas, she wants a Taurus Multi Alloy (Just had one made. SHhhh! She doesn't know I've already got it hidden in my safe. It's perfect. I think it's a better revolver than the Total Ti.) equipped with Crimson Trace laser grips. The grips are on order and I'll get then next week. She's got various other calibers in her collection, but the .38 Special snubs are what she carries. I've gotta buy some "woman things" and a new concealment purse. I'm 50/50 on concealment purses. She loves the first one and hates the second one. (A $300.00 Galco! ) Don't want to make another mistake and throw 300 bucks down a rat hole again.

Ruger GP100, 4 inch tube.

Before this she carried a Ruger P90, but because of recent physical problems with wrist could not always rack the slide, so, now it is revolver time.

The wife carries a Rossi M88 in an uncle mike's IWB, but there's going to be a new 357 with crimson trace grips and a Don Hume IWB under the tree for her this year.

For the sake of discussion when I had one of those.
She started with a snubby model 10
Really liked my LW Commander, I ( rather gunsmith buddy) found her one quick. Whew! -did I mention she really really liked mine?
Jetfire, I know she had to have the custom wood grips ( some doc at the hospital had some) still don't know where she got the garter holster for those special outfits...not that I minded...nope not at all.
( mine rarely carried a purse)

My girlfriend carries a Glock 26 daily, either in a concealment purse or a strong side IWB, pending her style of dress. Sometimes in the hotter weather she'll keep the Glock in her purse and have her Kel Tec P32 in her jeans pocket.

My wife carries a Kahr E9. She tried a number of guns, she found my Glock 26 to be too wide for her, the Kel-Tec P-11 to have too stiff of a trigger pull, and she bought a Star Model B Super that she really liked, but found too large and heavy for everyday carry. I bought her the Kahr, and she really likes it, more than any other gun she's used.

My wife just got her CCW this afternoon. I bought her this, until she decides what she may want different.

Fuschia P32 with a Hard Chrome slide.

In a Fobus holster INSIDE a quick-access zip pouch at 3 o'clock, so it looks like a PDA case.

I need to do some more nagging! Her HD gun is the Taurus M66 4" ...... not over heavy and she is spot on with it ... likes it best of my bunch ..... so it's sorta ''partly'' hers!!

Thing is so far, she has not ''taken the plunge'' to carry .. doesn't feel confident enough maybe ... some more range time might improve that ...... plus tho, she cannot carry into work as far as I know.. despite having a huge bag-purse! (That'd hold a Desert eagle!!)

However .... I think if she does get to that stage it'll prolly be the Taurus ... initially at least ... she copes way better with revo than auto.

Mine fondles my ............................. awe shucks .. never mind!!:p

Excuse the flippancy ...... must be over-tired!:)

Women!
My LW Commander, sheesh, after shooting it a couple of times " I really like this gun," tucks in her waistband, tilts head, winks. Adds " Besides I'm a girl". Stupid me replies "What's that got to do with the price of tea in china". Lets just say she reminded me.:p
She had already called my gunsmith, thank goodness he called 2 days later and said he had one ready to go. She knew what it was before I handed her the box. She already had the cash sitting on my dresser. Already committed the kid to go fishing with grandparents and had her shooting bag and ammo ready to go. Women!

What caliber is that P230 chambered for? .32ACP or .380ACP? I'm beginning to see several .32ACP P230's because I'm looking at Sigs. One of the guys over at Ray's Indoor Range carried a .32ACP Sig P230.

My wife carries an H&K USPC 9mm in a middle access purse rig. She NEVER used to carry until a drive by mugger broke her right arm trying to drag her purse off of her arm at 10 MPH.

After 4 months in a cast, she's a RKABA convert! Went to SIGARMS Academy for their CCW 1 and 2 courses. However, the USP is a little big to conceal so now she has her sights on the Kimber ultra carry!! :scrutiny:

She was carrying a Kel-Tek P32 until I discovered a rimlock problem a few weeks ago. She's carrying my SW 642 until I either wring out the KT P3AT enough to feel ok with her carrying it, or I buy her an all steel .38 spl.

Minotaur--

The way we get past the rimlock problem is to carry Cor-Bon in the pipe and first in the mag, Fiocchi or another hot FMJ the rest of the way down.
No rimlock.

Susan carries whatever she wants - are you kidding? There are no boundaries of 'mine' and 'yours' here (well, mostly)!

Usually it's a Colt Combat Commander, a minty old Walther PPK/S, or her Custom Eclipse II. Her SOG Pentagon never leaves her, either.

Very cool, JoeHatley! Outstanding!

I'm seriously considering getting Susan the Kimber Ultra Carry. . .

What?

No one here is man enough to say "My range bag"? :D

Yeah yeah, if I were still married, I probably wouldn't be man enough to say it, either...

But I got MINE back in the divorce... :neener:

S&W 6906. She shot my issue pistol a few times, and liked it so much she bought one for herself. Odd thing is, I was not a big fan of the 6906, but had to carry it, as I was teaching firearms at the academy - never let the students see you with anything other than the issue!

She covers my 6 when we go out, I cover hers.

On her person or in a dedicated carry purse, a Kimber Ultra Carry Aluminum with XS Sight Systems 24/7s and a S&A aluminum mag well.

In her vehicle a Kimber Compact Stainless Covert, with XS Sight Systems 24/7s and a S&A stainless mag well.

She graduated from Gunsight with an "E" ticket in 1978 and yes, I am very proud of her... and very lucky to have her in my life.

She started carrying a Taurus snubbie revolver, but soon discovered, it was easier for her to shoot a Bersa Thunder .380 so she now carries that with Hydrashocks in her purse she picked out at the gun shop.

Mine carries a Smith '60 loaded with CorBons and has a '66 loaded w/Federal 125 Gr JHPs in the nightstand. She doesn't know it yet but a minty '56 vintage Colt Detective Special might find it's way into her Christmas stocking. She is deadly with both Smiths.....

My fiance is still an Illinois resident until we get married in June, so she can't carry right now. She does however, keep a Taurus 85 on the floor, under a shelf next to her bed. One of the first things I have planned post-honeymoon is to get her into a CCW class and get her a permit. I'm really leaning towards getting her a Beretta 3032, but as instructed, not as a wedding gift.
