Is it just me, or does anyone elses "significant other" know when you've acquired a new blade by the lack of hair on your forearm?

I'm probably my own worst enemy but I do love that "new knife" box fresh sharpness:D

BTW, this one was another subcom... in black ;)

I'd rather shave the color off a slick magazine page than keep removing hair from my arm.

Anyway, if the blade is really sharp you don't have to shave at skin level. It should catch the hair near the ends and pop them off.

Oh it does, I just keep going, can't stop myself :)

I have that trouble regularly enough.... Back when I was making knives regularly, it got bad enough that I just shaved the whole forearm bare so it looked less like mange :)

While popping hairs above skin level is a better test of ultra-sharpness, for some reason I still like the tactile feel of the edge gliding along, *tick* *tickity* *tick*... Makes me smile every time.

Bald patch? Heck, my entire left forearm is bald! And yes, my most recent girlfriend wasn't too fond me using my Spydercos in such a manner. :p

I just pull a few strands of hair out of my head and use those for a "hanging hair test" when I get a new knife.

Given, I still have head hair....this may change when I get older and it starts falling out.

Nice! Glad to see I'm not alone... I just got a new Spyderco with a full Spyderedge and I love showing people that you can shave with a serrated knife.... unfortunately, most people aren't too impressed, they just want to know why you have missing patches of hair all up your arm.
