New front sight for 11-87P

Several years ago I bought a rem. 11-87P with an older set of ghost rings. The front sight consist of a front sight tower with prtective ears and a brass bead. It is very hard to pick up in low light. Any suggestions?

I'd start by getting a narrow strip of scrap cloth folded over a time or two and some metal polish, and 'shoeshine' polishing the bead. A nice bright finish reflects a lot of whatever light there is.
