jags I ordered before this thread showed up the .58 cal measures .550 so that is a no user, the .50 cal measures .470 think that would be safe to use in the .58 cal rifle?

You use thicker patches for cleaning than you do shooting. Ergo, your jag needs to be smaller to accomodate thicker patches. Give the one shipped a try. If you need to, double up on the thin patches. Jags as a rule need to run about .020-.025 under bore size, lan to lan. The thicker patches I use usually run about .03 which swabs out the groves also.
Unless you really stack up the patches with the .50 jag, you will spend more time retrieving dropped patches from your bore than you will cleaning it.

Any jag will hold patches that are thick enough.
I'll cut patches from old tee's that are 6" X 4" which can be double or triple folded. And then corners can even be folded toward the middle to make as many layers as necessary.
After swabbing, the patch can be unfolded and refolded again to create a new clean side. This can be done over and over again.
Here's an example of a patch used to clean a 20 gauge (.615) double barrel pistol with a .41 caliber jag. It held while stroking up and down repeatedly. If it didn't I could always cut a larger or thicker patch, or fold it over more using creative ways, or use a larger undersized jag.
Here I swabbed out the residue from the [factory] proof test firing of a new gun using Rusty Duck Black Off which has a red tint, and this patch was made from material that was very thin. I didn't need to fish anything out of the 2 barrels and I stroked the rod repeatedly and changed to use the fresh side of the patch. I previously mentioned cutting large size patches that are adequate to do the job. If the material was thicker then the patches would be smaller. :)
Last question on this, has anybody tried the "Spin Jag"
