I'm looking to buy one of these pistols in 9mm. It's a tough choice for me as I like them both. What justify the extra cost of the Sig?

You get backwards azzd controls and it will reliably pelt you in the face with brass. The triggers are somewhat better on the sigs.

Get whichever one that feels best and that you can shoot the best.

I used to own a Sig 226. It was reliable and felt great. I never could shoot it well. Others could that's why I sold it to a friend.
I now have a CZ75 and love it. I shoot much better with it. The reliability is equal. Of course the finish isn't near as good, but who cares?
I say go with the CZ75 even at equal price.

Go rent them both w/ a good amount of ammo for each & go w/ the one that works best for you!

The controls are fine on the sig. I don't use the slide stop anyway. I prefer the gross motor skill of pulling the side back. I have never had a problem with Sigs hitting me in the face with brass. I have owned a lot of sigs. Sigs are about the most accurate service pistol made. They are also very reliable. This would be an easy choice for me get the sig.

I started with the CZ75BD about 1 1/2 years ago. Added a Browning HP Standard, Glock 17 & 34 and finally bought a Sig 226 Stainless Stock. I doubt I would have all the other guns if I'd started with the Sig. I had a German 226 with stamped slide for a few weeks and upgraded to the stainless. The CZ is a great gun, and with the .22 Kadet kit gets a lot of range time. The sig is a semi custom gun and is the best shooter. I'm waiting for a BarSto barrel for the CZ. Just had to see if it improved the accuracy.
The appropriate question is which one you get first.

I don't have a P-226, but I do have a P-225 and a CZ-75BD. To me, the controls are damn near identical. I have no trouble switching from one to the other after not shooting one for awile.
They are both pretty close for accuracy, which is to say that they will consistently hit the center ring of a B-27 target at 25 yards. I have never shot either from the bench because that isn't what service pistols are made for.
The CZ is a little bit more reliable than the SIG. I have found that the SIG doesn't like Olympic ammo, but the CZ eats it no problem. Not really an issue because I no longer buy that type of ammo, but it is still just one of those things you think about.
Other than that, both are perfectly reliable. The SIG is so reliable that I was shocked to see it misfire and need a second strike to fire some of the Olympic ammo I mentioned. Prior to that, it had gone through over 700 rounds of various factory and handload ammo without so much as a single drop of oil. It is my carry gun, and I know that it WILL work.
The CZ has had about 800 rounds through it to date with no failures of any kind.
Personally, I would go with the CZ, but there ain't anything wrong with a SIG either.
Except paying $35 for a single stack magazine...
Thieving bastards...

all things being equal...(fit and feel in your hands)..
I'd get the CZ, but the Sig is good too. With the CZ you have more money left over for mags and ammo.....and the possibility of a .22 conversion unit for cheap practise. And you can carry it 'cocked and locked' for precision work.
Mine Go Bag Gun is a Colt Government Model and four extra mags which is a nice compliment to my Officer's model carry gun.....
But you have to pick yours!

SIG plusses:
Famous reliability
Better standard trigger and sights
Easier to field strip
Lighter
CZ fit and finish unimpressive
Safe CCW without manual safety
CZ 75B Plusses
At least $200 less expensive
Cheap high cap magazines.
Steel frame, comfy to shoot
May fit you better (or not)
Shoot them both, along with the S&W 910 (about the same price as a CZ) and Beretta 92 (in between in price).

Get the CZ dude... take the $200 you saved, get a couple hicap mags, and 1000 rounds of Olympic from Ammoman.com and shoot it!
Like someone mentioned... the CZ will eat that Olympic 9mm all day long... I split a case with a friend, and it works great in his XD9, so it's two thumbs up so far. It's clean and accurate and less expensive than other brands. Can't beat that with a stick!

If this is for the go bag I would get a cop return P226 from CDNN for $379. It will have some holster wear but from what I have seen and heard they are really cleaan inside. No better deal anywhere for a great gun.

Gabe,
I own and shoot a CZ 75B and a Sig P226 (in .40 S&W and .357 Sig, however not in 9x19). Most important, you cannot go wrong with either alternative; both are outstanding autoloaders. I agree with the other posters re the advantages of each, but I suggest the comparison is so close that only you can decide, and then only after firing both.
My Sig P220 and P226 are superb, buy my CZ 75B has also been flawless (although, in fairness, the finishing quality of the Sigs is superior).
Regards.
