I'm looking into these as a (much less expensive) alternative to a Civilian...love the idea of a slashing based handgun retention knife. The Lg. has a 4" blade same as Civvie. Anyone got some experience on the Vaquero series?

I have the Espada and one each Lg and Xlg voyager. Had a medium voyager with CS serrations and ended up grinding it to a plain edge. So other than the serrations I like CS knives and how strong they lock up.

I like the idea of it (with serrations) as a dedicated self-defense knife. The profile looks extremely suitable for slash cuts.

I agree with the profile. Very similar to the Espada.
